Adult Counselling

Counselling can help many people. It does not suit everyone and is not the answer to every problem in life. It is a confidential relationship between two people; and our Counsellors are non-judgemental in their approach. It can provide a way where someone could gain deeper insight into how they live their life and explore ways to change the processes that are unhelpful or painful.

Basildon Mind is a Charity and our Counselling Service does not receive regular funding from the Statutory Services. For Basildon Mind to provide a Counselling session it costs the organisation approximately £25.00. Therefore we have introduced a negotiated donation system to help support the service. Counselling Clients will be asked to make a donation of £5.00 upwards for each counselling session, the donation will be negotiated with a counsellor during the first counselling session. All donations will be based on the individual's financial status in order to make it affordable.

Basildon Mind promotes Autonomy, Respect and Inclusion and would not turn anyone away for counselling should they not be able to afford a donation.

Basildon Mind is an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and all practitioners are obliged to work within their professional Code of Ethics and Practice.

All our practitioners have undertaken vigorous professional training and are in regular supervision to maintain healthy professional work practices.
