Day Services

Valerie Lodge is our Day Centre and our members help and tell us what they like to do. We are open 6 days a week and aim to create a safe, happy social environment. We want people with mental health problems to gain independence, self-confidence and the ability to make choices and decisions for themselves.

The Day Centre is a warm friendly place where people can come to socialise, play snooker, participate in groups, such as art and craft, gardening, snooker and other activities, be supported by staff, and have a cup of tea.

We also have a minibus for people who are unable to use public transport.

Community Bridge Builders (CBB's)

Many people who experience mental health problems often face unemployment, discrimination, low expectations, meagre health, poor housing, social isolation, lack of direction and a detachment from the mainstream of life.

The role of our Community Bridge Builders is to offer dedicated tailored support, on a one-to-one basis, to the person and help him/her to regain their confidence, empower him/her and encourage him/her to regain control over their life.

The CBB's organise a range of groups in the community and in the Day Centre. For instance, computers, basic maths and English, relaxation, Tai Chi, Yoga as well as addressing issues such as coping with stress, etc.
