As a registered charity, Basildon Mind do hold various fund-raising events throughout the year. These range from quiz nights to boot sales.

We are engaged in various ongoing fund-raising events such as the local car park scheme.

" DOVES OF FIRE "

Mr. Terry Beresford, one of Basildon Mind's longest serving Volunteers and himself a Service User has written and had published a book entitled "Doves of Fire" which describes his many years as a London Fireman. Terry describes what life was like as a young man joining the London Fire Brigade, the good times and the sad. The book is also extremely funny in parts.

Since the book was published they have been selling like HOT cakes.

Terry has very kindly donated £1,000 to Basildon Mind's Counselling Service. We are very proud of Terry's achievements not only with the way in which he has battled his mental health problems but also for his achievement in becoming a published Author.
