Positive Pathways

Aligned with the NHS Long Term Plan, Brentwood & Basildon’s Shared Care Protocol enables more service users with long-term and stable mental health problems to be managed within Primary Care Networks (PCN’s).

Our Positive Pathways Team works within the Integrated Mental Health Primary Care Service and provide holistic short-term support, connecting people experiencing mental health problems to local initiatives and services for practical and emotional support. 

We aim to increase people’s connection with others and their local community and empower them to take control of their own health and wellbeing.  We help to strengthen personal and community resilience, and reduce health inequalities, by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing and physical inactivity.

Positive Pathways Senior Link Worker (Young Adults)

Can you support people to make informed choices about their recovery and the resources available?  Are you able to share your own personal story /lived experience, and be a positive role model for recovery ? ​

​As part of the Positive Pathways (Young Adult) team you will provide holistic short term support connecting people experiencing mental health problems  to local initiatives and services that support wellbeing, resilience, self esteem and confidence. Join us, so we can make an even greater impact.

Positive Pathways Wellbeing Navigator

Are you able to use lived experience, and be a positive role model for overcoming hurdles associated with mental ill health.  Experience in providing a listening ear and practical support to people with mental health problems.  Experience of supporting people with their mental health, either in a paid, unpaid or informal capacity.

Sanctuary Plus

The Crisis House (based in Basildon) is part of the 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Response and Care Service covering the entire geography of the Mid and South Essex (MSE) Crisis Care pathway. It offers intensive, short-term support to help service users manage a mental health crisis in a 4 bedded residential setting, rather than in a hospital. This is a 24/7 service operating 365 days of the year.

There are a number of roles available, see below:

 

Sanctuary Plus Peer Workers x 2

To support adults experiencing emotional and mental distress staying on a short-term basis at the Sanctuary Plus Crisis House.

Working as a team to ensure all service users receive the practical and emotional support required.

To support service users who are referred to the Crisis House using a person-centred, strengths-based approach.

2 positions are available; one Day the other Night Peer Worker, job descriptions for both roles can be found below.

Day Hours: 7.30am-7.pm: (2 day shifts per week), £22,549 per annum pro rata + OLF & shift allowance

Sanctuary Plus Housekeeper x 2

The primary duty of this role is to maintain cleanliness, tidiness throughout the Crisis House, ensure relevant food supplies are kept stocked in line with stipulated requirements and that any repairs or maintenance issues are reported to the Sanctuary Plus Manager/Deputy Manager. Housekeepers will also ensure that vacated rooms are cleaned promptly & safely and prepared for incoming service users.

Weekday Hours: 20 hours per week (Mon-Fri ,10am-2pm)Salary: FTE £20,330 per annum plus OLF (pro rata to part time)

Weekend Hours: 8 hours per week (Sat & Sun 10am-2pm) plus shift allowance, FTE £20,330 per annum plus OLF (pro rata to part time)
